In Rourkela, the work of construction of the sewage system was started in many wards, and the work continued for 5 to 6 years, but unfortunately, now there is no trace of the work. During construction, the people had to face a lot of problems. Someone’s house was filled with mud, and somewhere, a water pipe broke down on the way, and the water was drawn into the roads. After thinking that the government was working for the people, everyone positively took this situation. Most people living in Koel nagar, Basanti Colony, Chhend Kalinga Bihar, Civil township faced a lot of inconveniences.
After the construction work was completed by then, some home sanitation work remained in some wards. Everything has been opened, from the city’s main road to the residential streets and branch roads, for this type of sewage construction work.
It was said that after the work was completed, the problem would be solved by making new roads, but years have passed, and the issue of roads is still the same. Even after the completion of the road work in many wards of the city, work is still pending in some places. The condition of the roads for Sewage work has become destructive; in many Blocks of the Sectors, the condition of the streets is not good enough.
The sewage maintenance hole chamber has come up on the road, so the movement
of two and four-wheelers has stopped. For that reason, the construction of sewage has become a problem for the residents of the colony quarters. There are some narrow roads in the colony where two bikes can’t go together due to the manhole chamber of sewage, and the concrete roads have started breaking down all over the streets. Due to the opening of the lid of some manhole chambers, drain water has come into the streets.
If The government constructed a new road instead of opening the roads for sewage, the problem would be solved. This issue has been suppressed in front of Local Government to take a little seriously.
